Up to 1,000 slides per hour can be processed with the Linear Stainer COT 20. The continuous process makes high daily througput possible in histological and cytological laboratories.

A total of 23 staining stations are available. The slide holders are transported from one staining bath to the next according to the staining and drip times. The staining time can be adjusted as needed, from 20 seconds to 12 minutes. It applies to all stations. In order to increase the time in a staining station, it can be set repeatedly. The drip automatic reduces the carryover of staining solutions.

The frontal work surface includes two containers for draining. Each one offers space for up to 10 microscope slide holders with 20 slides each. The containers are made of stainless steel and removable, so they can easily be cleaned. Stainless steel lids reduce vapors coming from the containers.

Flowing watering via a central water connection can be set for 16 of the 23 staining stations. This ensures consistently high-quality staining results.

The cuvettes of the staining stations have a capacity of 250 ml each. The effectiveness of the staining and solvents is supported by the agitation function, which can easily be switched on and off.

The flexibility of the COT 20 allows a multitude of variations, the use of many common staining solutions and intermediates as well as the realization of many cytological and histological routine stains. There are three different models to choose from, adapted for laboratory requirements, which can either be connected to existing ventilation systems or have an integrated activated carbon filter.
