Choose the MEDITE Cryostat M630 with its powerful cooling unit and high-precision, semi-automatic microtome is for high-speed cryo sections of great quality. The standard model comes with a specimen clamp with fine adjustment and UV disinfection already included. The deisgn supports using the Cryostat M630 in sitting position or standing position.

The cooling chamber of the Cryostat M630 is illuminated with a dimmable LED light and cools down to -35 °C. Inside is a freezing bar with 20 positions and two additional quick freeze positions (max. -50 °C). The cooling chamber is closed with a safety glass pane, to prevent dusting and other contamination while keeping the temperature stable, which has a positive effect on the energy consumption.

The two high-resolution LCD displays allow intuititive setting of all variables, which include the different fine sectioning and trimming values and the respective speed for the microtome, along with overall settings such as defrosting, UV disinfection and lighting. In regards to the time-critical application field, the settings menu is designed for fast and easy use.

Working with the microtome is easy. By using the easy-going handwheel, the sectioning process is entirely controlled by the user. Precise paraffin sections are smoothly done. A locking mechanism to prevents unintentional handwheel movements, protecting samples and users. Horizontal feed and sample retraction are motorized.

The Cryostat M630 defrosts either automatically with a timer or manually as needed. The outer surfaces are made of smooth stainless steel, therefore cleaning and disinfection is a simple task. It can be done with common, non-abrasive laboratory cleaners. Condensation that arises during operation is automatically caught in a collecting bottle underneath the cryo chamber. There, it is easily accessible without requiring extra space. Because the bottle is semi-transparent, the current filling level is always visible.

A fine adjustment mechanism is already integrated with the specimen clamp holder in the standard version. To get the best results from the tissue sample, the specimen clamp can be turned 360°, and adjusted horizontally and vertically to an angle of 8°. In any position, the specimen clamp holder is characterized by its particular stability.

The position of a blade holder can also be adjusted when necessary. It is possible to move the entire block vertically, to make full use of the sensitive microtome blade, and also, to adjust the cutting angle by repositioning the blade holder top. With this level of flexibility, excellent results can be achieved with ease. A finger guard is included on the blade holder for safety.

The Cryostat M630 has low energy consumption and is remarkably quiet. Inlcuded in the delivery are five chucks for sample holding (different sizes) and a magnetic brush for the safe exchange of microtome blades. Blade holders are available separately.

While the Cryostat M630 is the perfect choice for use in the context of surgical purposes, a second model, the Cryostat M650, is available that is ideally suited for use in research laboratories. This model features an additional cooling unit at the object clamp. By adding the extra cooling power, the tissue samples remain solid in their frozen state even though the cooling chamber is not closed for the majority of the process duration.

The additional cooling power is also found in the deep freezing bar. Here, the quick freeze positions can reach a maximum cooling temperature of -65 °C. While it is undoubtly a powerful device in more than one way, the Cryostat M650 remains surprisingly low in regards of energy consumption and noise emission.
