Manual Rotary Microtome M380

Reliable and powerful Microtome

With its high-precision microtome mechanics, the manual Microtome M380 is ideally suited for manual sectioning in the laboratory. Since it does not require power supply to be used, it can be set up and used flexibly at any workstation.

Horizontal feed and retraction are done mechanically, the vertical sectioning stroke is done manually using the  smooth-running handwheel. This enables an adapted and sensitive sectioning movement, controlled by the user. Its proven, high precision microtome mechanism is developed and manufactured in Germany and ensures maximum sectioning quality.

The specimen can be aligned to the desired position using the trim wheel on the left. The mechanical slice thickness regulator is clearly visible above the specimen clamp to easily set the μ number. Then, the fine sections can be carried out with the handwheel on the right-hand side. The handwheel is characterized by its ergonomic position and ease of movement, and can be easily locked in any position using a spring lever.

A fine adjustment mechanism is already integrated as standard feature of the specimen clamp holder. The specimen clamp can be aligned horizontally and vertically and is characterized by its particular stability. The blade holder can be easily corrected using an angle mark. The blade clamp is adjustable via grids in order to use the blade precisely and completely. It has a manual protection device.

Section waste is collected in the large tray at the front of the Microtome M380 to keep the work area free. It can easily be removed for emptying and cleaning.

Overall, the Microtome M380 enables high-quality sections to be produced quickly and safely thanks to the precise
mechanical operation. Included in the delivery is a pack of sample blades, and a helpful brush with a magnet that makes it easier to safely replace the sharp microtome blades. Different versions of specimen clamps and blade holders are available separately depending on the application and customer requirements.
