Fraudulent emails containing fake invoices and new bank details for MEDITE Medical GmbH are currently circulating. At first glance, these can look deceptively authentic. If you receive such an email, notify your system administrator immediately. Do not open any file attachments or website links, and do not reply!
How to recognize fraudulent emails:
– Missing personal information: You as the recipient or the MEDITE employee are not personally named.
– Spelling and punctuation errors: Since fraudulent emails are often translated multiple times between languages, there is a significantly higher rate of spelling and punctuation errors, as well as unusual phrasing.
– Urgency: The text urges you to act immediately to avoid consequences.
– Files and links: The email contains no relevant information; instead, you are directed to view it in attached documents or via linked websites. Never open!
– New bank details: You are asked to send payments to new, previously unknown bank account details.
If you are unsure whether an email is from MEDITE, please feel free to send a new email (do not reply or forward the suspicious one!) to your account manager or to our headquarters at info@medite.de. You can also reach us by phone at +49 5136/88 84-0.
